Dean Proudfoot
CONE-ILLOGICAL A collection by Dean Proudfoot The humble traffic cone. Bright orange. Universally cursed. Almost never questioned. Cone-illogical began not in a studio but in traffic—hours spent stuck behind stop-go men, watching orange plastic monuments quietly boss everyone around. Trapped in enforced stillness, Proudfoot began to see the cones differently: less as practical objects, more as characters. Absurd. Authoritative. Oddly charismatic. Over time, that stillness became the work itself. A collection born from waiting, watching, and negotiating escape through a landscape entirely designed by orange plastic. Some things have all the power and none of the blame.
